Renewals begin on January 1 for Retail Sales/Services, Wholesale, Professional Services, and Laundry type businesses.
Total gross receipts generated from January 1 - December 31 from the previous licensed calendar year will be required during the renewal process.
Flat-rate and employee-based accounts may begin to renew in December.
All renewals become delinquent on March 1.
Note: If there has been a change in owners or officers, or if the business has changed addresses, please contact City of Hayward Business License Division by email at businesslicense@hayward-ca.gov with your account number.
Note, a processing fee of $2.00 or 2.9% (whichever is greater) will be applied to all Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, and Discover transactions. A $1.25 processing fee is applied to all e-check payments.
